On Tuesday, a collision that occurred on Norrington Road close to Autry Road in Harnett County resulted in the death of an 18-year-old.
At around 6:30 p.m., troopers from the State Highway Patrol and deputies from the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident scene.
WRAL News was informed by state troopers that they believe the accident took place at approximately 2:45 in the morning; however, the automobile was not found until several hours later.
Based on the preliminary information that has been gathered, it appears that Zoey Barr was traveling at a high rate of speed on Norrington Road when she crossed the middle line, flew off the roadway, became airborne into an embankment, and then overturned, landing an upside-down position in a neighboring pond.
It was raining at the time of the collision, as stated by state troopers who responded to the scene.
