A motorcyclist died early Thursday morning after being rear-ended by another driver. The incident closed several sections of I-75 in Detroit, but the route has since reopened.
According to Michigan State Police, the biker, a 33-year-old Sterling Heights resident, was traveling northbound on the interstate near Grand River when the incident occurred. We’re told that a Chevy Trailblazer rear-ended the motorcycle, forcing the rider to lose control and fall.
Officials said the person on the motorcycle was taken to the hospital and pronounced deceased. The Trailblazer driver, a 20-year-old Warren man, refused medical attention at the scene of the crash.
MSP investigated the incident for hours early this morning, shutting several roadways, which have since reopened.
