2 Dead, 1 Critically Injured After Fiery Single-vehicle Crash in Valdosta, Police Say

According to Valdosta Police, two people died early Saturday and one is in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash in Valdosta.

The accident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, according to police, who announced it on social media Monday afternoon.

According to police, someone called dispatch and reported that while driving in the 1400 block of Old Clyattville Road, he saw a vehicle hit a tree and catch fire.

The caller also reported that people were outside the vehicle, “lying on the ground and not appearing to move,” according to police.

Officers arrived on the scene and discovered two men who had been ejected from a pickup truck. An unresponsive male was also discovered inside the vehicle, according to police.
Officers attempted to aid the victims. However, officers reported that they were unable to find any vital signs on two of the victims.

After extinguishing the fire, firefighters removed the 21-year-old driver from the truck, according to police.

According to police, the driver and a 23-year-old passenger were pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.

A 20-year-old passenger was airlifted to a hospital, where police say he is in critical condition with serious life-threatening injuries.
