Man in Body Armor Arrested for Pointing Gun at People During Flag Day Rally in Colorado

According to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested a man wearing body armor who was pointing a gun at people at a Flag Day Rally Saturday.

Deputies said they received a call just before noon on Saturday reporting that a man wearing body armor and driving a red Jeep was pointing a pistol at people at a Flag Day rally at the Sangre De Cristo Sentinel Newspaper on Main Street in Westcliffe.

Deputies responded, saying they found the vehicle while conducting a high-risk traffic stop four miles south of Westcliffe.

Deputies said Brett David Tuthill, 30, of Westcliffe, was arrested for menacing, harassment, and disorderly conduct.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
