According to the Eugene Police Department, a two-vehicle crash on Highway 99 at Roosevelt Boulevard temporarily closed both northbound lanes early Monday morning.
According to EPD officials, they responded shortly after 5 a.m. on June 16 to a reported motor vehicle crash at Highway 99 and Roosevelt Boulevard. According to police, the 19-year-old male driver of one of the involved vehicles, a Lexus RX, was speeding before sliding into a Dodge Ram truck, traveling sideways into a grass strip between the curb and sidewalk, flipping multiple times, and crashing into a tree. According to authorities, the crash has blocked both northbound lanes of Highway 99. Eugene Springfield Fire personnel extricated the Lexus driver and transported him to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, according to police.
Police said the 39-year-old male driver of the Dodge Ram pickup truck did not need medical attention, while the driver of the Lexus was cited for careless driving.
