A driver has been arrested in connection with a tragic hit-and-run collision on Mother’s Day.
On May 11, the incident occurred around the 3400 block of State Road 7 in Davie.
Police have since arrested Lucien DaSilva, 19, of Sunrise.
According to authorities, the collision involved many vehicles and two motorbikes, and witnesses informed officers that the vehicles were speeding when the motorcyclists were struck.
B.J. Williamson, 25, and Alycea Caban, 20, were killed, and two more were injured, while the passengers in the vehicles left the scene.
After a thorough investigation, police announced they had identified the suspect vehicle: a 2014 silver Infiniti Q50.
On Monday, officers from the Davie and Sunrise Police Departments executed an arrest warrant for DaSilva.
He was arrested on two counts of fleeing the scene of a fatal collision and put into Broward County Main Jail.
