2 Teens Arrested After Shots-fired Incident in Aurora; Police Seize Automatic Weapon and 400 Rounds of Ammo

The Aurora Police Department reported that two individuals were apprehended following a shots-fired incident over the weekend.

Police said officers responded to a shots-fired incident at E. 13th Ave and N. Lansing St in Aurora.

Ulises Velela-Vega, 19, and Eliseo Vasquez-Leon, 18, were arrested after police interviewed witnesses and conducted an investigation.

Officers stated they seized three handguns with extended magazines, one of which had an illegal automatic switch, as well as over 400 rounds of ammunition.

Velela-Vega was arrested for possessing a weapon by a past offender, violating a protective order, and possessing large-capacity magazines; as of Wednesday, he remained on a no-bond hold.

Police said the second suspect, Vasquez-Leon, was detained for menacing with a deadly weapon, violating a protection order, and possessing large-capacity magazines. His bond was set at $25,000.
