A head-on collision in Rochester Hills killed a 77-year-old grandmother and injured three others.
The accident happened after 4 p.m. on Sunday (June 15) in Rochester Hills. Julianne McClure of Troy was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Trax southbound on Rochester Road near Hickory Lawn Street when it was hit by a 2006 Toyota Highlander driven northbound by a 31-year-old Lincoln Park man.
Officials stated that the Toyota crossed the centerline and collided with the Chevrolet head on.
McClure was extricated from the vehicle by Rochester Hills Fire Department personnel and transported to a Metro Detroit hospital, where she died of injuries on June 18, 2025.
According to police, McClure’s 15-year-old granddaughter, who lives in Minnetonka, Minnesota, was a front-seat passenger when she broke her ankle.
Officials stated that the granddaughter was treated and released from the hospital on Wednesday.
Police said two children, ages nine and seven, were in the Toyota’s backseat.
Officials stated that they were both taken to a Metro Detroit hospital for treatment.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident, which did not appear to involve alcohol or drugs, according to police.
