Michigan Man Dies in ORV-military Vehicle Crash; Passenger Hospitalized

A 54-year-old Gaylord man died after his ORV crashed head-on with a military vehicle in Camp Grayling.

UpNorthLive.com reported that the crash occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, on a seasonal military road in Maple Forest Township. The incident occurred around two miles north of Camp Grayling’s OP5 Tower and one mile south of its Range 45 Training Facility.

According to Michigan State Police, a military vehicle was going northeast on Briggs Road, near Wilhelm Lane, when it collided with an ORV traveling southwest.

According to authorities, the incident occurred along a curve in the road.

A 49-year-old female passenger in the ORV was also hurt in the incident. Police claimed she received treatment at a nearby hospital.

Nobody in the military vehicle was wounded.

UpNorthLive.com reported on Wednesday that the accident investigation is still ongoing.

According to the outlet, military officials are collaborating with the police inquiry.
