Septic Truck Crash on SH 130 Flyover in Georgetown Causes Jackknifed Semi and Road Closure

A septic truck driving on the southbound flyover of State Highway 130 in Georgetown malfunctioned early Tuesday morning, resulting in a crash that injured one person.

According to Georgetown police officers on the scene, the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with the concrete barrier. A semitruck following behind had to brake quickly to avoid the septic truck, causing it to jackknife.

At 8:48 a.m., the Georgetown Fire Department posted photos of the collision. The vehicles were severely damaged, and debris littered the elevated flyover roadway. The photographs depict a gap in the concrete barrier.

Georgetown Fire/EMS reported that one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Firefighters cleared the scene around 11:15 a.m., but the roadway remained closed for “environmental cleanup.”

“There was a small diesel fuel spill that was cleaned up by our contractor,” said a TxDOT spokesperson.
