On Friday, six people were hurt in a head-on incident in Jefferson County.
The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) responded to a two-vehicle, head-on incident on Highway 93 at 5:16 a.m., involving a Chevrolet Traverse and a Jeep Compass.
The collision caused a road closure in both directions between Highway 72 and 64th Avenue. The highway was stopped for around two and a half hours.
Six persons were transported to the hospital. According to CSP, one driver and a passenger suffered major bodily injuries. It is unclear which vehicle they were in at the time of the incident.
The degree of the remaining victims’ injuries is presently unknown.
Troopers have yet to clarify what caused the incident, or whether speed or alcohol are being investigated as factors.
