A 43-year-old Florida man who threatened to kill United States Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts has been sentenced to jail.
Neal Brij Sidhwaney of Fernandina Beach has been sentenced to 14 months in federal prison after sending an interstate threat to kill.
According to court filings, on July 31, 2023, Sidhwaney called the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, D.C. from Florida, leaving an expletive-laden, threatening voicemail message.
On the phone message, Sidhwaney identified himself by name and repeatedly threatened to kill a particular United States Supreme Court Justice:
Hello, my name is Neal Sidhwaney, and this message is for Justice Roberts. I will f—— kill you. GO F—— TELL THE DEPUTY US MARSHALLS YOU F—— P—-. I’ll talk to them, and then I’ll come kill you anyway, you F—— C—.
The Supreme Court of the United States Police – Protective Intelligence Unit investigated this matter, with support from the US Capitol Police – Threat Assessment Section. It was prosecuted by Assistant US Attorney Kirwinn Mike and Special Assistant US Attorney Joe Wheeler, III. Sidhwaney pleaded guilty on December 15, 2023.
