There’s a reason Google Drive is one of the top cloud storage alternatives for 2024. The service is straightforward and quick to use, and if you use Google products and services on a regular basis, the integration will be excellent. Of course, the brand does not rest on its laurels and has constantly added new features to the platform to make it more user-friendly.

Examples of such changes include a new online search bar, dark mode, a better way to manage files, and much more. Well, it appears like Google is preparing to offer further changes to Drive, this time including a useful function that first appeared on iOS devices last month.

Get faster results with new filters.

Android users will soon be able to search for files more easily thanks to newly introduced filter categories that will appear directly below the search bar. Users will be able to filter by File Type, Owners, and Last Modified. This will speed up file access while also making searches more targeted.

Furthermore, visitors will be able to refine their queries further on the search results page. This update should be available to all Google Workspace users, including those with personal Google accounts. It’s been a long time coming, but this new feature will significantly improve the search experience on Google Drive.

The graphic above shows how the new update will look. And if you have an Android smartphone, you can always get the most recent Google Drive update from the Play Store. If you’ve never used Google Drive before, you can sign up for a free 15GB of storage, which is great if you want a simple way to save information and access it from anywhere.
