According to an NHTSA file, the accelerator pedal pad may dislodge and become stuck by the interior trim.

The NHTSA states that the recall is for model year 2024 Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023, and April 4, 2024.

The NHTSA stated on Monday that Tesla was unaware of any incidents, injuries, or deaths connected to the issue. According to the NHTSA, cyber trucks in production have been retrofitted with a new accelerator pedal component as of Wednesday this week.

Tesla, led by billionaire Elon Musk, announced that it will replace or repair the accelerator pedal assembly for free. Owners can contact Tesla customer assistance at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla’s recall number is SB-24-33-003.

Notification letters are scheduled to be mailed to car owners in June.

The carmaker delivered the first dozen or so of its future Cybertruck pickup trucks to clients in November, two years later than planned, with uncertainty about when large-scale production would begin.

Musk addressed the challenges of mass producing the vehicle, saying during the company’s third-quarter conference call in October that “we dug our own grave with Cybertruck.”
