Chicago crime: Suspect shot after allegedly breaking into home, assaulting victim, and stealing property

A suspect was shot after reportedly breaking into a residence on Chicago’s South Side on Tuesday afternoon.

At 1:54 p.m., two male offenders broke into a home in the 8000 block of South Carpenter Street, which was occupied by two female victims and one male victim, according to police.

During the event, the criminals beat the male victim and stole stuff from the home.

The two perpetrators fled on foot. While fleeing, one of the perpetrators was shot in the body. He was transferred to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The second perpetrator, a 31-year-old guy, was detained.

The assaulted victim was transferred to a local hospital in excellent condition with a minor injury.

Detectives from Area Two are conducting an investigation.
