Man charged with DUI following head-on crash in Sussex County

FREDON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A man was charged with driving under the influence following a head-on motor vehicle crash in Sussex County early Saturday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Charles Marchan.

The crash occurred at 1:19 a.m. on County Route 618 westbound near milepost 2 in Fredon Township, Marchan said.

According to a preliminary investigation, a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Travis Lemasson, 22, of Newton, crossed over the double yellow line and struck a Honda passenger car traveling in the opposite direction, Marchan said.

No serious injuries were reported at the scene, Marchan said.

Lemasson was charged with DUI and received additional traffic summonses, Marchan said.

The crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not released further information at this time.
