More than 46,000 tickets issued during Halloween crackdown

More than 46,000 tickets were issued throughout the state during the crackdown over Halloween.

Law enforcement agencies issued 46,212 tickets for various traffic infractions during the enforcement period from Oct. 25 through Oct. 31. This included 1,260 tickets for impaired driving.

There were also 9,029 tickets for speeding, 1,645 tickets for distracted driving, 1,267 seatbelt violations and 215 violations of the Move Over Law. Police also wrote tickets for 32,796 tickets for other violations.

These numbers are an increase of the 32,866 total citations issued during a similar period around Halloween in 2023.
