Take a break from social media to counter post-election stress

Take a break from social media to counter post-election stress in your life.

Well, voters are filled with mixed emotions following Tuesday’s election. Experts said one way to deal with all those emotions is to take a break from social media. According to the American Psychological Association, nearly 70% of Americans said the 2024 presidential election was a significant source of stress in their lives, whether you’re celebrating or feeling anxious, it’s ok to put politics on pause and do some self care.

“It’s good to take a break from media and social media because there’s going to be a lot of content that is just going to stir people up shortly after the election,” said Dr. Michael Zipra.

You have the holidays coming and Dr Zipra says one thing you can do is make an agreement with family and friends to keep politics off the table.
