Three people arrested in fight at Amsterdam Walmart

Three people have been arrested for allegedly getting into a fight at the Amsterdam Walmart.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a fight at the store on State Route 30 on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at around 6 p.m. Just before police arrived, store employees separated some of the participants. Some of them were inside the store and some were outside.

Deputies began interviewing people to determine what happened, when a second fight erupted inside the store.

The Amsterdam Police Department assisted in separating all parties and securing the scene.

Joseph Vazquez, 26, was charged with aggravated family offense, criminal contempt and disorderly conduct. Arisel Vazquez, 56, and Nicole Vazquez, 23, were each charged with attempted assault. They were released on appearance tickets and released pending arraignment in Amsterdam Town Court at a later date.

The incident is under investigation and more arrests are possible.
