DEC: Brush fire near NY/NJ border nearly 70% contained

The large brush fire near the New York-New Jersey border is nearly 70% contained, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation.  

Around 300 firefighters from six state agencies and local volunteer companies have been fighting the Jennings Creek fire, which has now burned 4,756 acres, according to DEC. The fire is located primarily in the Sterling Forest State Park.  

New York State is under a burn ban to prevent wildfires from occurring.
