Pedestrian killed by car in North Adams, Massachusetts. It happened on Route 8 on Sunday night.

A person is dead in Berkshire County after being struck by a vehicle.

The crash happened at around 5:12 p.m. Sunday on Route 8 near the border of Adams and North Adams.

The pedestrian had parked his car and was crossing the street to enter the Bounti-Fare restaurant, according to the Berkshire County District Attorney s Office. It was dark out at the time of the crash.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The name is being withheld pending notification of the family.

The driver was not under the influence of alcohol, according to the DA s Office.
