In addition to the Bibles, sneakers, watches, photo books, and cryptocurrency adventures he introduced during his third White House campaign, President-elect Donald Trump has also supported a line of guitars.
Trump shared a picture of himself on Truth Social on Wednesday, claiming to be holding a Limited Edition 45 guitar. The guitar was an electric edition with Trump’s “Make America Great Again” motto etched into the neck and an American flag and eagle on the body. Both electric and acoustic variants are offered for $1,250 and $1,500, respectively. Additionally, there are Presidential and God Bless the USA models, as well as Signature Edition guitars, which cost $10,000 and are signed by Trump.
The financial connection between Trump and the guitar sales revenues is unclear.
In keeping with his long-standing practice of combining his economic and political interests, Trump has sold a number of branded goods since the start of his 2024 White House campaign. These things were put up for sale following the former president’s $489 million civil fraud judgment.
In his 2023 financial statement, Trump claimed to be the owner of CIC Ventures LLC, which was linked to several of them, such as the Official Trump Watch Collection, of which one model costs $100,000.
Products such as the watches are subject to a paid license agreement, which is the same arrangement that allowed Trump to benefit for years from sales of anything from steaks to vodka and water before he entered politics, according to websites for such products.
As of Wednesday, neither the name of the business selling the products nor any such disclaimers were present on GetTrumpGuitars.com. The number of each model that will be available is listed on a frequently asked questions page, which also mentions that they are the ONLY guitars that President Donald J. Trump has approved! but excludes all of the license information and disclaimers seen on some of Trump’s other product websites.
A couple’s suburban Nashville address is included in the privacy policy of the guitar website; neither of them promptly responded to a message for comment on Wednesday. Their social media profiles featured pictures of them at Trump’s Florida election-night celebration.
Not quickly replied were messages sent to Trump’s transition team and 16 Creative, a branding firm mentioned at the bottom of the guitar website.
In the run-up to his victory in the general election, Trump this year has advertised the sale of $100 silver coins featuring his image, encouraged his followers to spend $59.99 on a God Bless the USA Bible that is based on the patriotic song by country singer Lee Greenwood, and sold new sneakers with the Trump logo at Sneaker Con, which bills itself as the Greatest Sneaker Show on Earth.
Additionally, he has experimented with NFTs, or nonfungible tokens, and last year claimed to have made between $100,000 and $1 million from a series of digital trading cards featuring him in cartoon-like roles such as a superhero, astronaut, and cowboy.
