Troy Turkey Trot runners brave wintry weather

The 77th annual Troy Turkey Trot saw over 4,500 runners endure the bitter cold to participate.

Delmar resident Jack Huber finished first among the male 10K runners. Huber has participated in the competition since 2022 and improved his performance from fourth to second before winning this year, he told Tamara Starr of NewsChannel 13.

This year, the situation is really dire. It’s chilly. Despite the freezing rain, everyone must cope with it. “Anyway, someone is going to win,” he replied.

He stated that he intended to eat, rest, and warm up.

Portland, Oregon native Nicole Peterson won the women’s 10K race.

The 5K male and female winners were Damian Hackett and Gwen Perks.

The Grade School Mile was won by 13-year-old Conor O. Grady.

The total number of runners was 4,478.
