State Police release more details about incident in which two men rammed trooper’s car

Additional details on the search for two males who are suspected of stealing a truck and colliding with a trooper’s vehicle have been made public by State Police.

According to a guy interviewed by NewsChannel 13, his white Ford pickup was stolen in Pittsfield on Sunday morning at around five in the morning.

According to State Police, Pittsfield Police phoned them at 8:30 a.m., stating that they think the truck might be along Route 20. The truck was discovered parked in the Dollar General lot in West Lebanon. The driver was told to stop the truck by troopers.

After defying orders, the two guys turned left to proceed south on Route 13 and then west on Route 20.

According to authorities, both males were trapped in the truck after the driver lost control of it close to County Road 13 and Kinderhook Road. He managed to dislodge the truck by putting it in reverse. They rammed the trooper car’s driver’s side door as they were leaving the scene. According to police, they think it might have been deliberate.

Two troopers were inside, and one was brought to Albany Medical Center for assessment. According to authorities, he has subsequently been freed.

The search is still going on.
