Woman gets time served, probation for having loaded gun during Northway traffic stop

For carrying a loaded weapon during a traffic encounter, a woman from North Carolina received a probationary term.

On April 15 at around 3:30 p.m., Elizabeth N. Burns, 29, was pulled over by State Police for a traffic infraction on the Northway in Saratoga Springs. The pistol was discovered in the car by troopers.

In September, Burns entered a guilty plea to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. On Dec. 5, she was given five years of probation and time served.
