Montgomery County police K-9 loses a loved one

The loss of a cherished, retired K-9 is being mourned by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The department employed K-9 Gaj from 2012 till 2021.

He bears the name of Deputy Gary A. Johnson, who died while performing his duties.

Gaj is known for his efforts on numerous successful arrests, building searches, and drug seizures. He also enjoyed interacting with others.

Alongside his handler, retired Sgt. Jason Nare, he retired.
