On December 6, Islamorada’s Founders Park hosted its annual Holiday Fest, when snow fell and the spirit of the season permeated the air. Families waited in line to see Mrs. Claus and Santa. The snow mountain and a tall Christmas tree attracted throngs of children. Additionally, kids had fun decorating cookies thanks to Publix. Young dancers from On Your Toes Dance Studio delighted the audience with a number of Christmas performances at the amphitheater. Delicious food was served by food trucks, and participants got a head start on their shopping at a gift bazaar. As vehicles carrying dignitaries and celebratory floats passed across the park, people walked around the huge lawn. The Islamorada Chamber of Commerce is in charge of organizing the yearly event.
