Lake Placid could be backup site for some 2026 Winter Olympics events

Italy is scheduled to host the Winter Olympics in 2026.

The Olympics might move back to Upstate New York in case that site doesn’t work out.

For the next Olympic Games, Lake Placid has been selected as the backup location.

If needed, the Adirondacks village might host certain activities during the games.

The Winter Olympics were held at Lake Placid in 1932 and 1980.
