16-Year-Old Becomes Second Teen Arrested for Capital Murder in Montgomery

Thedailymiaminews– In connection with the shooting death of a young man in Montgomery in October, a second juvenile has been charged with the crime.

On Thursday, the police made the announcement that they had arrested a 17-year-old boy. Earlier today, he was brought into custody by the United States Marshals Service.

The adolescent is being charged with capital murder in connection with the death of Eldren Wright, who was 22 years old, on October 23, 2024.

Bakeith Lavaughn Jackson Jr., who is 18 years old, was charged for a crime that was disclosed by the police earlier this week.

The allegations against the two adolescents include three counts of attempted murder, two counts of capital murder (capital murder during a robbery and capital murder by shooting into a vehicle), and two instances of capital murder.

On Wednesday evening, at approximately 6:15 p.m., the Montgomery police department received a notification that five victims had arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds each.

The 1000 block of Liberty Square Drive was identified as the location where the incident took place by the investigators.

No further information has been made public at this time.

Injuries were sustained by three adults and two children. The injuries that Wright and one of the juveniles sustained were classified as life-threatening.

Injury to the other three victims was not considered to be life-threatening.

Wright passed away on October 29.
