Tampa Wanted, On The Run For 4 Years, Apprehended After Fleeing From Deputies In Dodge Scat Pack

After fleeing deputies in his Dodge Scat Pack, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) apprehended a suspect.

According to investigators, Christian Doby, 26, fled the scene at a high rate of speed after deputies performed a traffic stop on a Dodge Scat Pack on Monday.

Deputies used stop sticks effectively, striking three of the vehicle’s tires.

“Our Aviation Unit tracked the suspect to an apartment complex at Puritan Road, where he fled on foot with another occupant,” HCSO said in a statement.

K9 commands were issued, and the culprit was quickly apprehended and put into jail. Detectives discovered that Doby had been a fugitive from justice for over four years after conducting an investigation.

“By speeding through our streets and underestimating the skill of our deputies, this suspect put everyone’s lives in danger.” “Our deputies’ training ensures that those who endanger our community will be brought to justice as soon as possible,” stated Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Doby may have believed he could escape consequences, but now he will have plenty of time to think about the repercussions of his choices.”

Doby is charged with a number of offenses, including:

  • High-Speed Driving an Unregistered Motor Vehicle While Fleeing
  • The Attaching Tag had not been assigned.
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intention to Deliver Resist without Using Violence
  • VOP – Out of County Warrant – Controlled Substance Possession
  • VOP – Out of County Warrant – Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana Delivery, and Possession of Cannabis Exceeding 20g
