According to authorities, police in Miami were fast and furious during a crackdown on an illegal street vehicle racing event over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, arresting over 60 persons.
A caravan of the sporty sedans can be seen slithering across the roadway 100 yards down the street in a video uploaded on social media by Miami-Dade Police.
The footage also shows the overwhelming response from Miami-Dade Police as they set out to disperse the crowd.
A total of 61 people were arrested, and 363 citations were issued. According to police sources, other cars found at the scene were proven to be stolen and have all been returned to their owners.
“In previous holiday weekends, we have encountered visitors who come to our county to block roads and interfere with the flow of traffic,” Miami-Dade Police Director Stephanie Daniels stated publicly before the bust.
“Participating in such activities will result in police action, including arrest, citation and your vehicle being impounded,” the officer said.
