Biden’s remarks come in the wake of a big legal development for Trump. In a slander lawsuit, the former president was sentenced to pay $83.3 million to former writer E. Jean Carroll.
Carroll won the case, with the jury awarding her $18.3 million in compensatory damages and an additional $65 million in punitive penalties.
Trump fiercely disputed the ruling, calling it “absolutely ridiculous” and indicating that he intends to appeal, characterizing the situation as a “politically motivated attack” planned by Biden.
