Six states in the United States reported a significant increase in Covid-19 cases. According to CDC data, coronavirus cases increased quicker in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York than in the rest of the country.
According to the report, published on January 20, five states had a 15% increase in illnesses over the previous two weeks. New York experienced a 15.4% growth within the same time period.
Over the last two weeks, infection rates in America have grown by 12.5%.
Experts feel that Covid-19 remains a concern to the public, and many hospitals have implemented a mask mandate.
Dr. George Monks, former president of the Oklahoma State Medical Association, stated that susceptible patients, such as the elderly and those with underlying diseases, could be at danger of a new Covid-19 version.
Oklahoma has the second-highest number of Covid-related deaths, with 437.5 per 100,000.
A mask rule was imposed last month at 11 public hospitals in New York City in response to a surge in Covid-19, flu, and respiratory virus cases. It also applies to all health clinics and nursing homes managed by NYC Health + Hospitals.
The developing JN.1 variety now accounts for 86% of Covid-19 infections in the United States, according to the CDC.
