What happens when you combine two favorite foods? You receive an Italian beef taco.
Tacombi, the national taqueria brand that opened in the West Loop last summer, has teamed up with Chicago staple J.P. Graziano Grocery to create a unique offering for March. Starting March 4, the city’s 187th birthday, customers can order a taco inspired by Chicago’s renowned beef sandwich.
The taco is served on a freshly crisped corn tortilla with thinly sliced beef slow-cooked in Tacombi’s salsa verde and J.P. Graiziano’s Italian beef seasoning. It comes with housemade giardiniera, pickled red onions, and bacon and costs $6.98 till March 31.
J.P. Graziano’s is known for its innovative collaborations. For the past two years, the fourth-generation Italian market and sandwich shop has partnered with Montclare bakery Il Giardino Del Doche to provide giardiniera paczkis on Fat Tuesday.
