Rapper Killer Mike Arrested After Alleged Altercation and Escorted from Grammy’s Venue

Rapper Killer Mike was arrested Sunday after being held for questioning and removed from the Grammys venue following an altercation, police said.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a guy was detained and shackled on Sunday afternoon following a “physical altercation.” He was eventually arrested and sent to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division, according to X.

Police recognized the man as Michael Render, Killer Mike’s real name. He was arrested on a misdemeanor violence charge and was set to be released Sunday night, according to police.

According to the LAPD post, the confrontation took place near the 700 block of Chick Hearn Court, which houses Crypto.com Arena.

Additional information concerning the alleged altercation has not been disclosed.

Killer Mike won three Grammys earlier in the day at the pre-show Premiere Ceremony, including Best Rap Performance, best rap song, and Best Rap Album.

Representatives from Killer Mike and the Grammys did not immediately respond to calls for comment.
