Victims of Miami Murder-Suicide Identified as New England College Graduates

Meghan Moore and Sidney Capolino, former New England College hockey players, were killed over the weekend in an apparent murder-suicide in Miami, Florida.

Police say the incident occurred Saturday night inside a condominium complex in Southwest Miami-Dade.

According to Miami-Dade police, 40-year-old Luis Napoles shot Moore, a 2017 Barnstable High School alumnus, outside her apartment.

According to investigators, Napoles shot Capolino inside the flat before committing suicide.

Police said Napoles and Moore appeared to be dating and that the three of them lived together.

According to a New England College spokeswoman, Moore graduated in 2021 and Capolino in 2022. Both were part of the women’s hockey squad.

New England College is located in Henniker, New Hampshire, approximately 20 minutes from Concord.

Moore was a standout on the Barnstable High School hockey team, according to the college. Capolino was a native of Pawling, New York.

“New England College is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of two recent graduates, Sidney Capolino ’22 and Meghan Moore ’21,” the school said in a statement. “Meghan and Sidney were well-known on campus, and we are thinking about and praying for their families and friends during this sad time. As the campus community considers the gravity of the situation, it is critical that we support and care for one another.”
