Authorities suspect the motorist lost control just before veering off the bridge. The driver was verified to be among the deceased.

Sindisiwe Chikunga, Minister of Transport, conveyed her sympathies to the victims’ families. According to the National Department of Transportation, she intends to visit the crash scene.

The Easter holidays are a very busy period for road travel, and the South African government frequently warns of the increased risk of road accidents this time of year.

Over 200 individuals were killed in traffic accidents over the Easter weekend last year.

The Zionist Christian Church’s headquarters are in Moria. The Easter pilgrimage draws hundreds of thousands of people from South Africa and neighboring nations.
