An Individual Who Visited Disneyland Claims That a Goofy Character Left Her “Permanently” Disabled!

A lady is saying that when the Goofy figure fell on her, she was “permanently” damaged.

On April 3, 2022, guest Katrina Griffin went with her daughter to the California Adventure theme park at the Disneyland Resort. In March of 2024, she formally filed a complaint in Orange County Superior Court over the alleged occurrence. According to the lawsuit, she was severely injured when a cast member who was Goofy fell on her.

Griffin “walked directly” into her with “all of his body weight” as she bent down to tie her daughter’s shoe, and she fell into the “hard cement,” as reported by KTLA 5 News. “Severe, traumatic, debilitating, and permanent injuries that necessitated significant medical care as well as emotional pain and suffering” were apparently inflicted by this occurrence. Her injuries were neither described nor specified in the lawsuit.

The unnamed cast member dressed as Goofy and the handler/assistant of the character performer, who mediates encounters while the costumed characters are mute, are also named in the case against Disneyland Resort.

Griffin said that the helper ought to have stopped the mishap. Griffin seeks a jury trial, damages to compensate for lost wages and medical expenses, and damages for carelessness. According to Griffin’s statement in the complaint, this occurrence “will result in some permanent disability.”
