Severe Weather Threat Looms Over Chicago on Tuesday and Wednesday

Severe storms are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to ABC7 Chicago meteorologists. Showers and thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday morning and early afternoon, but no severe weather is forecast, according to ABC7 Chicago meteorologist Larry Mowry.

According to Mowry, a significant storm is expected Tuesday evening and night, triggering an AccuWeather Alert.

Thunderstorms are forecast between 6 p.m. and midnight. Mowry also predicted hail, wind, and tornadoes.

Areas along and west of the Interstate 39 corridor are more likely to experience tornados. The majority of the area is classified as level 2 risk. The tornado risk in western counties is 5%.

Western Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri all have a 10% risk. There is also a storm warning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. The threat of severe weather on Wednesday is decreased, although significant storms are conceivable, according to Mowry.
