Miami, FL (DMN) – The authorities in Florida have arrested a 64-year-old man after allegations of inappropriate acts on a cruise ship.
An incident occurred on an MSC cruise ship involving a man from west Miami-Dade. The man was captured on camera pulling down a 6-year-old boy’s swimsuit not once, but twice. As a result, he has been arrested on three felony charges after the ship returned to PortMiami, as confirmed by the police.
Sergey Asanov, a 64-year-old Russian national residing in the Fontainebleau area, was apprehended by authorities on Saturday.
Last Tuesday, an incident occurred on the MSC Seascape while it was in international waters, as stated in an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Police Department.
According to the police, Asanov and the victim were involved in playful activity in a jacuzzi. However, things took a serious turn when Asanov held the boy’s head underwater and forcefully removed his swimming trunks, revealing his genitals.
According to the report, Asanov returned the boy’s swimsuit. Once the boy had finished dressing and left the jacuzzi, Asanov allegedly forced him back into the water and forcibly removed his pants again, according to the police report.
The report by Local-10 News does not mention whether Asanov was acquainted with the boy.
A Miami-Dade judge has determined that there is enough evidence to charge him with two counts of lewd and lascivious conduct on a child under 16 and one count of child abuse. According to court records, he was released on Monday after posting a $17,500 bond.
