Waterford man arrested for allegedly stealing two vehicles in Halfmoon

New York State Police say they arrested Caleb Dejong, 19, of Waterford for allegedly stealing two vehicles from a Halfmoon business.

Troopers received a report on November 4 around 9:41 a.m. that two vehicles were stolen from a business in Halfmoon.

Investigation determined that Dejong had reportedly damaged part of the building of the business to retrieve the keys for the vehicles parked there, said State Police.

Authorities say he allegedly used the keys to steal the two vehicles from the business’s parking lot.

The two vehicles were located later on, unoccupied, in Halfmoon and recovered. The license plates were missing from one of the vehicles when they were recovered, said police.

Officials say Dejong was arrested in Clifton Park and taken to the State Police there for processing. He was taken to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office after for pending charges unrelated to this investigation.

Dejong was arraigned at Halfmoon Town Court on all charges and released on his own recognizance.

After arraignment, police say he was turned over to the Albany Police Department for additional pending unrelated charges with their agency.
