Police: Troy man drove drunk, had drugs

A Troy man is accused of both drug use and drunk driving.

Just before 2:30 a.m., Marquis D. Venable, 36, was pulled over by state police for a traffic infraction on Brunswick’s Oakwood Avenue.

Venable faced a DWI offense. Police discovered felony-weight drugs in his body as he was being processed. It is said that he attempted to destroy the medicines.

Venable was accused of DWI, tampering with physical evidence, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, hindering governmental administration, and other traffic infractions.

After being arraigned in Troy City Court, he was taken to Rensselaer County Jail without being granted bail.
