Rams WR Demarcus Robinson arrested on suspicion of DUI after loss to Eagles

Los Angeles (AP) Early on Monday morning, Demarcus Robinson, a receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The day after catching a touchdown pass during Sunday night’s Rams 37-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Robinson was cited and released, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A few miles from the Rams training facility in Woodland Hills, the CHP said that at approximately 5:13 a.m., its officers saw a white Dodge sedan traveling at over 100 mph on the 101 freeway in the western San Fernando Valley.

The CHP said in a statement provided to The Associated Press that the driver, who identified himself as Robinson, displayed objective indications and symptoms of alcohol impairment. Robinson was released to a responsible party following his arrest.

In his second season with the Rams (5-6), Robinson has started all 11 games and hauled in 26 receptions for 384 yards and a team-high six touchdown catches. Behind standout receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, the nine-year NFL veteran has been a competent No. 3 option for quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Robinson won a Super Bowl ring in February 2020 after playing with the Kansas City Chiefs for his first six NFL seasons. Before joining the Rams last year, he played for Baltimore for a year.

On Tuesday, Sean McVay is expected to address media. In an effort to maintain their position in the close NFC West battle, the Rams go to New Orleans on Sunday.
