Hudson man allegedly drove drunk, caused three-vehicle crash in Vermont

In Vermont, a Hudson man is charged with driving under the influence and causing a collision involving three vehicles.

It occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. on November 25. Peter Guernsey, 45, was operating his truck on Route 7 south of Hartsboro Road in the town of Wallingford, according to Vermont State Police. He struck a box truck after crossing the double yellow line.

According to authorities, Guernsey then proceeded in the incorrect lane and collided with another car, causing it to slide down an embankment on its passenger side.

Guernsey was transferred to Rutland Regional Medical Center for assessment after suffering minor injuries. He was accused of driving while intoxicated, and further accusations are still pending.

It was unknown how seriously the other drivers had been hurt.
