Fire damages Gloversville home

Four people are receiving aid from the Red Cross following a fire in Gloversville.

Around 10:30 on Sunday morning, the fire started at 32 Steele Avenue.

Investigators said it started in a garage and spread to the connected house.

When fighting grew too risky, firefighters inside were evacuated. Then they used a tower ladder. Investigators reported that the fire was contained at approximately 1 p.m.

Two teenagers and two adults made it out safely. Nobody was harmed.

Firefighters said they don’t believe it’s suspicious, but the cause is being investigated.
