This year, there were 101 entries in Key West’s annual holiday parade, which included the Grinch, Santa and Mrs. Claus, marching bands, dancing groups, snow machines, and even an alpaca from the Sheriff’s Animal Farm dressed festively.
Crowds of children screamed for the candy being thrown from the floats as the parade continued down Truman Avenue before turning right on Duval Street. Key West Holiday Fest, a month-long celebration of holiday activities, includes the city’s parade. Check out keywestholidayfest.com for the complete program. And don’t forget that the Coffee Butler Amphitheater’s Waterfront Winter Wonderland, which offers rides, slides, snow, and ice skating until December 28, starts on Friday, December 13.
