A 47-year-old man from Bridgewater was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday morning while walking along Route 22 in Branchburg, according to local authorities.
Police reported that the man was seen walking in and out of traffic on the westbound side near County Line Road shortly before he was hit. Emergency responders airlifted him to a hospital in New Brunswick, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have chosen not to disclose the man’s identity, stating it is “out of respect for his family and loved ones at this time.”
The incident remains under investigation. As of now, no charges have been filed or summonses issued related to the fatal accident.
