Knife-Wielding Attacker Arrested After Assaulting Father and Daughter in Culver City

Thedailymiaminews:- A man was arrested in Culver City on Friday morning after attacking a father and his juvenile daughter with a knife for no apparent reason, according to the Culver City Police Department.

The incident happened around 9:28 a.m. near Ocean Drive and Westwood Boulevard. Police responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon. The father told officers that he and his daughter were exercising along the bike path by La Ballona Creek when a man suddenly approached them and began swinging a knife at him.

Fortunately, neither the father nor his daughter was hurt. They were able to quickly flee from the attacker. Police did not immediately release the names of the father, daughter, or the suspect involved.

Officers canvassed the area and found the suspect in the parking lot of Culver City Middle School, which was empty at the time due to winter break. The man was detained without incident. Before being arrested, the suspect allegedly threw away the knife he used in the attack, but officers recovered it from the scene.

The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Culver City Jail. The police department confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
