Three Arrested in DWI Crash That Killed 22-Year-Old in Arlington

After a young man was killed in a violent DWI crash in Arlington, police said Sunday that three males had been arrested and charged.

Officers were summoned to the eastbound I-20 near Bowen Road just after 7:35 p.m. on Saturday to look into a collision involving a car and pickup truck.

The car was completely engulfed in flames when they got there. Firefighters in Arlington found a 22-year-old man’s body inside after putting it out.

According to investigators, the pickup truck veered out of the eastbound lanes and struck the rear of the automobile when it was stopped on the inside shoulder of I-20. The car struck a concrete wall and caught fire as a result of the incident.

Officers were informed by on-scene witnesses that three guys fled from the pickup truck following the collision. All three men were later found and taken into custody by officers.

Officers determined that Cesar Ramirez Castro, 25, was the pickup’s driver. Officers detained Ramirez Castro and booked him into the Arlington City Jail on one count of intoxication manslaughter and one count of collision involving death following a field sobriety test.

The pickup truck’s two occupants, Castro Zammarron, 24, and Marcelino Ramirez-Ramirez, 30, were both taken into custody and charged with one count of public intoxication.

The victim’s name will be made public later by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to Arlington Police.
