Teenagers in Santa Clara County Were Caught for Trafficking People

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Police in San Jose said Thursday that two 17-year-old boys were arrested in Santa Clara County on suspicion of trafficking two young girls.

Officials didn’t name the suspects because they are children.

Police say that one of the suspects is from Morgan Hill and the other is from San Martin.

After a separate investigation into violence in November 2024, the two teens were named as suspects in human trafficking.

In November, cops in San Jose were called to Silver Leaf Park because of a fight between two girls, ages 14 and 16.

The 14-year-old was pepper-sprayed by a “unidentified male suspect” in the park, according to the police. He was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Officials said that while they were looking into the fight, they found out that both of the girls were victims of trafficking. In January, it was found that the two suspects were teens from Santa Clara County, and arrest warrants were issued for them.

Police in Morgan Hill caught the first teen on February 26 for trafficking people. On March 31, the second suspect was caught in San Martin.

For their crimes, both were taken to the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall.
